Hyped: DC Judge BOA Boot

Hyped: DC Judge BOA Boot

MSRP: $330

As a top choice of DC team riders, we’re drawn to the Judge BOA boots, which have been completely redesigned for 2018. With a striking, bold appearance, these boots mean business. They feature technical upgrades including an improved Boa® lace configuration, an all-new upper and super rugged Vibram® outsoles. Ultra responsive, they beasts will give you the support needed for boosting big hits, and laying down hard carves.

Though they are on the stiffer side, the articulated construction allows for a bit of mobility when seeking a looser ride, or tweaking out grabs.

For the ultimate customization, the dual BOA dials let you adjust the upper and lower zones, independently. This is awesome for locking in the perfect fit and feel with just a few spins.

The heat-moldable liner is plush, and can conform to your feet. The Aerotech ventilation system keeps things flowing, so you don’t wind up with super stinky sweaty feet, during those big long days.

DC JUDGE BOA Specs:
Closure: Dual Boa closure system with H3 Coiler Reel
Outsole: Vibram outsole
Lining: black liner
Insole: Impact-S insole
Support: internal ankle harness
Other features: articulated construction
Technology: Aerotech ventilation system

Pro Setups: Manboys Head-to-Toe 2017-2018 Gear

Rusty Ockenden

Birthday: April 8, 1986

Home Mountain: Whistler/Blackcomb

Stance: Goofy

Board: Endeavor Maverick 165

Boots: Adidas Boost

Bindings: Burton Cartel EST

Jacket: Oakley Silver Fox Biozone Jacket

Hoodie: Oakley Factory Pilot

Pants: Oakley Whiteroom Biozone Pant

Hats: Usually don’t fit

Mitts: Oakley Roundhouse Mitt

Base Layers: 10 year old Foursquare stuff

Goggles: Oakley Line Miners with Prizm lense

Sunglasses: Oakley Latch Prizm

Socks: Burton socks that I stole from Mark Sollors. Lots of holes in them, need to steal more.

What’s your favorite piece of gear and why?

Other than the essentials – an Airhole. I feel naked without my face covered. Also, I really don’t like sunscreen because it’s just smearing chemicals on your face… So I will use it for sun as well as cold, pretty key for me!

What gear trend do you see in snowboarding that you’d like to fade out?

Trends come and go, I have no problem with any of ’em. People can do what they want, and if everyone looked the same, that wouldn’t be fun would it? I have noticed a lot of Carhartt gear on kids who definitely do not look like carpenters though. Ha ha

Has living in Whistler affected your gear in any way?

Yeah, for sure. It has made me enjoy functionality of the gear I wear. I ride in stormy powder for most of the season, so I enjoy being warm and dry.

Any other comments about your gear you’d like our readers to know?

Yeah, I just would suggest trying a bigger snowboard. I stepped up from a 160 to a 165 this year and it’s super fun. (speaking to the jumper / free rider / powder rider)

Base Layers: 686 Frontier base layer

Goggles: Smith I/Os

Sunglasses: Smith Marvine

Socks: Stance

What’s your favorite piece of gear and why?

It’s hard to choose just one piece, but I will say that I love the GLCR Gore Tex line because it keeps me warm and dry so that I can stay out as long as I want.

What gear trend do you see in snowboarding that you’d like to fade out?

To be honest, I’m down with all the trends… some might not be for me but I think it keeps it interesting and fresh.

Any other comments about your gear you’d like our readers to know?

Only that I think it’s worth buying the good stuff, I always say “buy it nice or buy it twice” and I think that’s true when it comes to snowboard gear.

Goggles: Spy Optic Ace

Sunglasses: Spy Optic Beachwood

Socks: Stance Merino Wool Snow Socks

What’s your favorite piece of gear and why?

Thats a tough one. I’m kind of a nerd with all my gear. My friends always bug me about how into the product tech I am. I love my Spy goggle lens options, though. I feel weird traveling anywhere without at least 2 pairs on me, and like 3 lenses for each. That and my snowmobile.

What gear trend do you see in snowboarding that you’d like to fade out?

Little beanies worn super high on your head where they only cover half your ears and almost cover your eyebrows. I really don’t get it, especially on a cold day. I guess I am just old.

Any other comments about your gear you’d like our readers to know?

I don’t like to promote gear that I wouldn’t actually purchase myself, and with that said I am really proud of all the gear I wear. I honestly believe Lib Tech is one of the best board riding companies out there. Coolest people working for them and running the show. Plus, they make the worlds best snowboards, and damn amazing surfboards and skateboards too.

What’s your favorite piece of gear and why?

The board! I mean that shits important. Or maybe gear, I hate being wet and cold, being dry is super dope.

What gear trend do you see in snowboarding that you’d like to fade out?

Nowadays, I’m pretty down for anything, seriously what ever floats your boat! Do you, it’s 2017.

Any other comments about your gear you’d like our readers to know?

Wax your board bro, speeds tight.
