New arrivals for the Snow Garden Festival 2017
(Including TransWorld SNOWboarding’s Arcadia)
The european much-anticipated snow sports festival will take place in Palais des Sports of Grenoble on the 12th, 13th and 14th of October.
For many years, the event was mostly centred on snowboarding, and, for this 7th edition (yes, 7 years have already gone by!), the team wanted to welcome the skiers and the skiing practices. The program is more diversified than last years and is willing to attract all the sliding sports enthusiasts from Grenoble, its surroundings, the Rhône-Alpes region and the Hautes-Alpes. All these new features are the reason why Snowboard Garden Festival now becomes the Snow Garden Festival.
Always centred on the tryptic Festival films – Live Music – Culture and Action, the year’s best national and international snow sports films, several local and international shows on the Live Music scene, as well as a stallholders’ village with all the associated brands of the surrounding ski resorts, and a large and new choice of ski and snowboard activities, will be held to bring good vibes to Grenoble and welcome another winter in the region.
To carry on with some good news, the Snow Garden Festival will have the massive honour to welcome the launch of the 50th anniversary of the Grenoble Olympic Games 1968 in this Olympic Games’ year. Until June 2018, the city will welcome several celebrations and it is also the opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Palais des Sports of Grenoble (the old Palais des Glaces and Olympic ice rink in 1968). A massive party is scheduled on Thursday evening, with a retrospective film of the 1968 Olympic Games, a press conference with the French Olympic 2018 teams, the Regional Olympic Committee and the local representatives.
This year, the Snow Garden Festival will have a 5€ payable access for everyone over 15. A permanent box office will be held at the entry of the Palais des Sports and will sell several Pass formulas, as festival-goers or VIPs Pass, 1, 2 or 3 days Pass.
